Oklahoma Bingo

Oklahoma has for a long time been synonymous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo games for decades. Clients from all of the neighboring states get in automobiles and travel to Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act became law after a precedent setting decree by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have established gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Amerindian tribes to take advantage of the betting rules, and at this time control ten casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these casinos were founded. Electronic games such as slot machines were not authorized, because they’re thought to lead to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma law have changed to allow for big Native gambling gambling halls. You’ll now discover Indian gambling dens with slots, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are still not authorized in the Native casinos as of yet, although this is just a matter of time. No one can say with whether having different games in the bingo parlours will do for the popularity of bingo.
