Bingo in Oklahoma
Oklahoma has for a long time been analogous with Bingo. That’s due to the fact that the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for years. Patrons from each of the surrounding states get in cars and visit Oklahoma to play Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) became law after a benchmark ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Indian bands located in Oklahoma have opened bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the wagering restrictions, and today operate 10 casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling halls were built on. automated games such as slot machines were not permitted, since they are thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma rules has altered to permit gigantic Native gambling casinos. You will now find Indian gambling dens with slot machines, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are not yet approved in the Indian casinos as of yet, but that is simply a matter of time. Nobody can authority whether having other casino games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
