Oklahoma Bingo
Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s due to the fact that the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for ages. Patrons from each of the surrounding states pile in vans and visit Oklahoma to gamble on Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 IGRA followed a landmark decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine American Indian tribes located in Oklahoma have established gambling halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the betting rules, and at this time operate ten casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which these gambling dens were built on. Electronic games like slot machines were not authorized, due to the fact that they are thought to contribute to gambling addiction more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law have altered to permit gigantic American Indian gambling gambling dens. You will now see Amerindian casinos with slot machines, video poker and chemin de fer tables. Craps and roulette are still not authorized in the Native gambling dens yet, but that is only a waiting game. Nobody can determine what having different games in the bingo houses will do for the draw of bingo.
